" Being a Claytalker is about rearranging
the ART of storytelling so that the Clay speaks."

Equipped with a magnificent rolling pin, one small kiln,100 lbs of clay, plus a road map
of the South,
Burk' Art Clayworks began in 1991. We are now in our 21st year of
producing, selling, and promoting the value of working "
One at Time, for One of a Kind".

As the 21 seasons passed my clay defined it's voice, and now my hands intertwined
with the white clay have a story to tell. Springtime and the Holidays are my favorite
times of year. Both seasons influence my art.
CLAY and PETALS create Nature's Collage

My love of the garden came alive in the clay, as petals create a pottery Collage from
Nature
I use individual petals, Irises or daises for instance, and other objects found in
mother nature's garden to create the textures for Nature's Collage. Soft delicate
glazes are brushed in to each petal's impression, every piece offers an unique
story...for show and tell.

       Clay NativitiyScene
Once it too hot to garden, to cool off I
play Christmas music. And start
producing the nativity scenes for fall
deliveries.
I used a collection of family heirlooms
as stamps in the clay, texturing either the
robes or the animal bodies. The Nativity or
Manger Scene now has over 20 pieces to the
set.

relaxed, holiday instrumental music.  Full of
containment, the arrangements have a new age
jazz twist. The twist is enjoyable every summer,
the cool vibes add a gentle reminder of a season
yet to come.
